bedsores
Immobility skin wounds
Bedsores are skin ulcers that develop from prolonged pressure on the same spot, typically in people confined to bed or a wheelchair.
Also called pressure sores or decubitus ulcers.
They form where bone presses skin against a surface—heels, tailbone, hips, shoulder blades: The nursing home was cited for letting patients develop bedsores.
