spinal cord injury

Backbone trauma consequence

Spinal cord injury is damage to the spinal cord that results in loss of function, sensation, or mobility below the injury site.

The higher the injury on the spine, the more extensive the impairment—cervical injuries may cause quadriplegia, while lower injuries affect only the legs.

She's been in a wheelchair since the spinal cord injury.
