MRSA
Antibiotic-resistant staph infection
MRSA stands for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, a strain of staph bacteria that doesn't respond to common antibiotics.
MRSA infections can range from minor skin problems to life-threatening conditions, spreading easily in hospitals and other healthcare settings.
Community-acquired MRSA has become increasingly common among otherwise healthy people: The wrestler contracted MRSA from the gym mats.
