Tiresias
Theban blind prophet
Tiresias is a blind prophet from Greek mythology, famous for his gift of prophecy and for having lived as both man and woman.
He appears in the Theban myths, advising Oedipus and Creon, and in Homer's Odyssey, where Odysseus consults his shade in the underworld.
The name evokes prophetic wisdom, forbidden knowledge, or gender transformation: Like Tiresias, she seemed to see what others couldn't.
