Samarkand
Silk Road hub
Samarkand is a city in Uzbekistan, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Central Asia.
It was a major stop on the Silk Road and served as the capital of Tamerlane's empire in the 14th century.
The name evokes ancient trade routes, exotic bazaars, and the crossroads of Eastern and Western civilizations: a journey to Samarkand.
