Zanzibar

Tanzania's island territory

Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous archipelago off the coast of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean, historically a center of the East African spice and slave trades.

The main island, Unguja, is often called Zanzibar Island.

The name evokes exoticism and remoteness in English: It might as well be in Zanzibar for all the good it does us here.
