caravan

Camels crossing dunes

A caravan is a group traveling together, especially across a desert or hostile territory—merchants with camels, refugees in vehicles.

The word extends to any procession: a caravan of SUVs heading to the beach house.

In British English, a caravan is also a trailer pulled behind a vehicle for camping or temporary housing.
