Olympos
Mythical divine residence
Olympos is an alternative spelling of Olympus, the mountain in Greece that ancient Greeks believed to be the home of their gods.
The spelling with -os reflects the original Greek ending, while -us is the Latinized form that became standard in English.
Both refer to the same mythological dwelling place of Zeus and the other Olympian deities, as well as to the actual peak in northeastern Greece.
