Norseman

Ancient Nordic seafarer

A Norseman is a member of the medieval Scandinavian peoples—the Vikings and their contemporaries from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

The term evokes seafaring raiders and explorers who ranged from North America to Constantinople between the 8th and 11th centuries: The Norsemen established settlements in Iceland and Greenland.
