Goliath
Felled by stone
Goliath is the giant Philistine warrior in the Hebrew Bible, famously killed by the shepherd boy David with a single stone from a sling.
The story has made his name synonymous with formidable but beatable opponents, and David-and-Goliath has become shorthand for any contest between a weak challenger and a dominant power: It was a David and Goliath matchup. (Lowercase goliath means any giant or powerful entity.)
