divine law
God's binding rules
Divine law is the body of rules and commandments believed to come directly from God or a higher power, as distinct from laws made by human governments.
Religious traditions locate divine law in sacred texts—the Ten Commandments, Sharia, the dharma.
Divine law is often held to be eternal and unchanging, superior to any human legislation: Natural rights derive from divine law, not the state.
