Highgate

North London district

Highgate is a district in north London, historically a village on a hill along the Great North Road.

It's known for Highgate Cemetery, the Victorian burial ground where Karl Marx, George Eliot, and Douglas Adams are interred.

The area retains a village atmosphere with Georgian architecture and Hampstead Heath nearby.

They walked through Highgate on the way to the cemetery.
