window
Wall's glass eye
A window is an opening in a wall or vehicle that lets in light and air, typically covered with glass.
Windows can be opened or closed, and the word extends to any framed view or transparent barrier: the airplane window, a display window.
In computing, a window is a framed area on a screen showing a program or document.
Figuratively, a window is a period of opportunity or a means of observing something otherwise hidden: a window into medieval life, the launch window closes at noon.
