Microsoft Word

Office suite component

Microsoft Word is a word processing application developed by Microsoft, first released in 1983 and now part of the Microsoft 365 suite.

It has become the dominant software for creating, editing, and formatting text documents, from simple letters to complex reports with images, tables, and graphics.

A Word document, saved with the .doc or .docx extension, has become a de facto standard for sharing editable text files.
