email

Send without stamps

Email is electronic mail—messages sent and received through computer networks, primarily the internet.

As a noun, it refers both to the system itself and to individual messages: I'll send you an email or Check your email.

As a verb, it means to send such a message: Email me when you get a chance.

Though the hyphenated e-mail was once standard, the solid form now dominates in everyday use.
