Euripides
Ancient Athenian tragedian
Euripides was an ancient Greek tragedian of the fifth century BCE, alongside Aeschylus and Sophocles.
His surviving plays include *Medea*, *The Bacchae*, and *Electra*.
His name appears in references to classical drama and occasionally in wordplay: Euripides, you pay for 'em (a pun on "you rip a dese").
