divine justice
Heaven's righteous judgment
Divine justice is the belief that a god or cosmic order ensures moral wrongs are punished and righteous acts rewarded—if not in this life, then in an afterlife or through karma.
The concept appears across religions and philosophies as an answer to why good people suffer: Divine justice will prevail in the end.
When someone powerful finally faces consequences, observers may invoke divine justice even casually: After everything he did, losing it all feels like divine justice.
