Cassiopeia

Northern W-shaped stars

Cassiopeia is a constellation in the northern sky, recognizable by its distinctive W or M shape formed by five bright stars.

In Greek mythology, Cassiopeia was a vain queen who boasted of her beauty and was punished by being placed in the heavens, where she appears to hang upside down for part of the year.

The constellation serves as a navigational reference point, helping locate the North Star: Cassiopeia was bright enough to see even with the city lights.
