Andromeda

Perseus rescued her

Andromeda is a galaxy visible from Earth, the nearest large spiral galaxy to the Milky Way.

In Greek mythology, Andromeda was a princess chained to a rock as a sacrifice to a sea monster, then rescued by Perseus.

The constellation named for her contains the galaxy.

Andromeda also names a genus of flowering shrubs in the heath family.
