Pegasus

Medusa's equine offspring

Pegasus is the winged horse of Greek mythology, born from the blood of Medusa when Perseus beheaded her.

He was later tamed by the hero Bellerophon and eventually placed among the stars by Zeus.

Pegasus is also a constellation in the northern sky, recognizable by its Great Square asterism. (Lowercase pegasus refers to any winged horse.)
