CD-Rs
Once-only recording media
CD-Rs are recordable compact discs—blank CDs that can be written to once using a CD burner.
The R stands for recordable.
Unlike factory-pressed CDs, CD-Rs allow users to create their own music compilations, data backups, or software copies: I burned the playlist onto a CD-R.
Once written, the data is permanent and cannot be erased or overwritten.
