Memorex is a brand of audio and video recording media, particularly magnetic tape and blank cassettes.
The company's 1970s advertising slogan "Is it live, or is it Memorex?" became a cultural catchphrase, used to question whether something is authentic or a reproduction: With all this plastic surgery, is it live or is it Memorex?
