DVD-RWs
Erasable optical media
DVD-RWs are rewritable optical discs that can be recorded, erased, and recorded again multiple times.
Unlike standard DVDs or DVD-Rs, which can only be written once, DVD-RWs allow users to overwrite content repeatedly, making them useful for backup storage or transferring files between computers.
The format was popular in the early 2000s before USB drives and cloud storage largely supplanted optical media.
I used DVD-RWs to back up my photos before external hard drives got cheap.
