DVD-RAM
Rewritable optical media
DVD-RAM is a rewritable optical disc format that allows data to be erased and rewritten many times, unlike standard DVDs.
It was designed for data storage and backup rather than video playback, offering reliability features like defect management.
The format never achieved widespread consumer adoption and has been largely superseded by flash storage and cloud backup.
