CD-RWs

Rewritable optical media

CD-RWs is the plural of CD-RW, a compact disc that can be written, erased, and rewritten multiple times.

The RW stands for rewritable, distinguishing these discs from CD-Rs, which can only be written once.

CD-RWs were useful for backup and data transfer before USB drives and cloud storage made them obsolete: I found a stack of old CD-RWs in my desk drawer.
