Base64
Radix sixty-four
Base64 is a method of encoding binary data as text using 64 printable ASCII characters—letters, digits, plus, and slash.
It allows binary content like images or files to be transmitted through systems designed for text: The image was embedded as a Base64 string in the email.
The encoding increases data size by about one-third but ensures safe passage through text-only channels.
