inbox

Where emails land

An inbox is a container or location for incoming messages.

Originally a physical tray on a desk for papers awaiting attention, it now primarily means the folder where email arrives: My inbox is overflowing.

The word implies items requiring action or review.

To inbox someone is to send them a private message: Inbox me if you're interested.
