world-war
International military catastrophe
A world war is a military conflict involving many nations across multiple continents.
The term typically refers to the two major conflicts of the twentieth century: World War I (1914–1918) and World War II (1939–1945).
As a modifier, world-war describes the scale or severity of conflict: world-war levels of destruction.
