convert
Win someone over
When convert is stressed on the last syllable, it’s a verb that conveys changing from one thing to another (convert dollars into euros, convert the old church into apartments).
Less commonly, when the stress is on the first syllable, convert is a noun and designates a person who has adopted a new religion (Catholic convert).
This is the usual meaning if a person converts.
