sugar mill
Sweetener production facility
A sugar mill is a facility that processes sugarcane or sugar beets into raw sugar.
The term also refers to the machinery within—heavy rollers that crush cane stalks to extract juice.
Sugar mills were historically central to plantation economies in the Caribbean and American South: The old sugar mill has been converted into a museum.
