quotas
Limits on amounts
Quotas are fixed limits or targets—usually numerical—imposed on quantities.
An import quota restricts how much of a good can enter a country.
A sales quota sets the minimum a salesperson must achieve.
Hiring quotas mandate minimum numbers from underrepresented groups, often controversial as either necessary correction or unfair preference: The company faced criticism for its diversity quotas.
In computing, a quota caps storage or bandwidth allocation.
