repetitions
Doing something again
Repetitions is the plural of repetition, an instance of doing or saying something again.
In exercise and strength training, repetitions—usually shortened to reps—refers to the number of times a movement is performed in a set: Do three sets of twelve repetitions.
The word also applies to repeated elements in music, speech, or writing, where repetition may serve for emphasis or become tedious depending on context.
