steamed rice
Plain Asian staple
Steamed rice is rice cooked by absorption or exposure to steam rather than boiling in excess water.
The method produces fluffy, separated grains—the standard preparation across much of Asia and the default when rice accompanies a dish: I'll have the curry with steamed rice.
