rehearse

Prepare to perform

To rehearse is to practice a performance before presenting it—actors rehearse scenes, musicians rehearse concerts, speakers rehearse presentations.

The word extends to any preparatory run-through: Let me rehearse the plan one more time.

To rehearse can also mean to recount or enumerate: She rehearsed her grievances at length.
