simulation
Artificial reality exercise
Simulation is the imitation of a real process or system.
Scientists run computer simulations to model climate change; pilots train in flight simulators.
The word can suggest something false or pretended: His concern was pure simulation.
In philosophy, simulation theory proposes that reality itself might be a computer-generated construct.
To simulate is to create such an imitation or to feign: simulate enthusiasm.
