deliver
Bring to door
Deliver means to bring something to a person or place, whether physical goods, messages, or services.
A courier delivers packages; a speaker delivers remarks; a pitcher delivers the ball to home plate.
The word extends to producing promised results: Can the new CEO deliver on her commitments?
In its most dramatic sense, deliver means to assist in childbirth or to give birth: The midwife delivered twins last night.
To deliver someone from harm is to rescue or liberate them, a usage now mostly found in religious contexts.
