learn

Gain new knowledge

Learn is a verb whose meaning is complementary to teach: Teachers teach students in order that students will learn.

Many things we learn directly from our experience, as is the case when someone learns a lesson.

If you learn a poem or the dialogue of a play, you memorize it.

If you learn a dance or a piece of music, you are able to perform it.

If you say that someone will never learn, you believe that they won’t benefit from their experience.
