miming
Acting without words
Miming is communicating through gesture and expression without words—the art of the mime.
Someone miming acts out meaning silently: She was miming drinking from a cup.
The word also covers lip-syncing to recorded music or pretending to play an instrument: The band was clearly miming during the TV appearance.
