grout

Seals tile gaps

Grout is a paste or morite used to fill gaps—especially the narrow spaces between tiles.

After tiles are set, grout is applied to seal joints and create a finished surface: The bathroom grout has started to mildew.

As a verb, to grout is to apply this filler: We spent Saturday grouting the kitchen backsplash.
