embodiment

Idea made flesh

Embodiment is a physical form given to something abstract.

A person can be the embodiment of a quality: She was the embodiment of grace.

A document or system can be the embodiment of principles: The Constitution is the embodiment of democratic ideals.

The word suggests that an abstraction has become concrete and visible—incarnated in a particular person, object, or form.
