stakeholder
One with interest
A stakeholder is anyone with an interest in how something turns out.
In business, stakeholders include shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers, and the surrounding community—anyone affected by a company's decisions.
The term has spread to any project or initiative: We need to consult all stakeholders before moving forward.
Originally, a stakeholder held the stakes in a bet or wager until the outcome was decided.
