online identity
Web-based alter ego
An online identity is the persona someone presents on the internet—their username, profile, posting style, and how they represent themselves across platforms.
A single person may maintain multiple online identities: Her online identity as a food blogger differs completely from her gaming persona.
The term also covers the digital footprint that identifies someone: login credentials, account histories, and trackable behavior patterns.
