people of color
Racially marginalized groups
People of color refers collectively to individuals who are not white—Black, Asian, Latino, Indigenous, and other non-white groups.
The term emphasizes shared experiences of racial marginalization in white-majority societies: The organization advocates for people of color in tech.
It emerged as a more inclusive alternative to "minorities" and avoids the negative framing of "non-white." Often abbreviated POC.
