underrepresented
Not enough present
Underrepresented describes groups or categories that have fewer members in a particular context than their proportion in the general population would suggest.
The term appears frequently in discussions of diversity in workplaces, universities, and political bodies: Women remain underrepresented in STEM fields.
Something can also be underrepresented in a more general sense of receiving insufficient attention or coverage: Rural issues are underrepresented in national media.
