European Americans
Ancestry from Europe
European Americans are Americans whose ancestry traces to Europe.
The term parallels African Americans, Asian Americans, and similar demographic categories, though white Americans rarely use it as an identity label.
It appears mainly in formal contexts—census data, academic writing, diversity discussions—where parallel construction matters: European Americans constitute the largest racial group in the United States.
