tapestry
Fabric wall art
A tapestry is a heavy textile with decorative designs woven into it, traditionally hung on walls.
Tapestries were both ornamental and functional in medieval castles, providing insulation and depicting scenes from history or mythology.
Figuratively, tapestry describes anything composed of diverse interwoven elements: the rich tapestry of urban life, a tapestry of cultures.
