longitude lines
East-west position markers
Longitude lines are the imaginary vertical lines running from pole to pole on a globe or map, measuring east-west position relative to the prime meridian at Greenwich, England.
Unlike latitude lines, which run parallel to each other, longitude lines converge at the poles.
Also called meridians: The longitude lines on the map were marked at fifteen-degree intervals.
