entailment
Necessary logical conclusion
Entailment is what necessarily follows from something else.
In logic and linguistics, if one statement entails another, the second must be true whenever the first is: "She's a widow" entails she was married.
In law, entailment restricts inheritance to a specific line of heirs, preventing property from being sold or willed freely.
The verb is entail.
