Organon

Aristotle's logic works

The Organon is the traditional title for Aristotle's six works on logic, including Categories, Prior Analytics, and Posterior Analytics.

These texts established formal logic as a discipline and remained central to Western education for centuries.

The name means "instrument" or "tool," reflecting the ancient view that logic was the instrument for all scientific inquiry. (Lowercase organon is any system of logical method.)
