houndfish
Long-jawed marine fish
A houndfish is a large, slender needlefish found in warm coastal waters, reaching up to five feet long.
Named for its elongated snout resembling a hound's muzzle, it has a narrow body and needle-like jaws filled with sharp teeth.
Houndfish are known for leaping from the water at high speeds, occasionally causing injuries to boaters and night fishermen attracted by lights.
